Air Fryer Delicata Squash

A๏ปฟir fryer Delicata Squash is an easy and quick veggie side your whole family will love. The best part? You don't even need to peel the squash!

Ingredients

  • 1 Delicata Squash
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. C๏ปฟut your Delicata squash in half and scoop out the seeds. Then, cut each half into slices. You can also cut the squash into rings without cutting it in half first and pull out the seeds from each ring. From there, cut the rings in half.
  2. W๏ปฟhile you are cutting the squash, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
  3. O๏ปฟnce the squash is cut, place the slices in a large bowl and toss them in the 2 tsp of olive oil, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1/8 tsp of black pepper.
  4. P๏ปฟut the squash in the preheated air fryer, and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. B๏ปฟe sure to stop the cooking halfway through to give the air fryer basket a shake to ensure even cooking. As each air fryer is different, you will have to set your air fryer to cook according to its instructions and settings.
  6. T๏ปฟhe squash should be cooked after 10 minutes. When the air fryer cuts off at the end of cooking, use a fork to check for doneness. Serve with your favorite main dish or toss into a warm goat cheese salad.

Notes

A number of different seasonings would work great with this squash if you don't want to stick to just salt and pepper. Cajun seasoning, Cumin, Paprika, Chili Powder, Dried Basil or Oregano, Curry Powder, etc.

O๏ปฟven Instructions:

  1. H๏ปฟeat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. C๏ปฟut and season the squash the same way you would for air frying. I๏ปฟnstead of 2 tsp of olive oil, you will need 1 Tbsp.
  3. P๏ปฟlace the squash slices on a rimmed baking sheet on the center rack of the oven.
  4. B๏ปฟake for 5 minutes and stir the squash.
  5. B๏ปฟake for another 5 minutes and use a fork to check for doneness. They may or may not need more time depending on how thick the slices are.
