This easy guacamole with salsa verde and lime blends creamy avocado with tangy tomatillo salsa and fresh lime for a bold, restaurant-worthy dip at home. This is the fresh twist your chips have been waiting for! Ready in minutes and impossible to stop eating.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

3 medium or 2 large Avocados

1 teaspoon of Salt

1/2 teaspoon of Pepper

Zest and Juice from 1 Lime

1/3 cup of Salsa Verde

1/3 cup of chopped Red Onion

1/2 cup of chopped Cilantro

Instructions

  1. Zest and juice the lime. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh out into a medium sized bowl. Use a spoon, fork, or potato masher to break up the avocado, still leaving some chunks.
  2. Add the 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper and stir.ย
  3. Place the lime juice and lime zest in the bowl and stir them in.
  4. Next, add the 1/3 cup of salsa verde to the avocado and stir to combine.
  5. Dice the red onion until you have 1/3 of a cup and stir into the mixture.
  6. Chop the cilantro until you have 1/2 cup and add it to the guacamole and stir.
  7. Your guacamole is ready, enjoy!

Notes

If you want your guacamole to have a smoother texture, use a potato masher to break up the avocado until it is smooth.ย

The cilantro can be left out if you prefer.

How To Keep Your Guacamole Green

The lime juice and zest will help keep it from browning. Storing your guacamole properly also helps with this. To store, place a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the guacamole and press down so the plastic wrap is touching the whole surface of the guacamole. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

I’ve tested this, and the lime zest does add a day or two of storage time over just using lime juice.
