How To Host A Farm To Table Meal For Spring
Springtime means a lot of wonderful ingredients to inspire creativity in the kitchen! Everything from asparagus to carrots to rhubarb to radishes, there is so much color and flavor throughout the season. Here are a few suggestions to help you host a gathering that will have you looking forward to Spring all year long:
Use produce from the Farmers Market- If it is the right time of year, support those local farms and go get some fresh produce! If it is not market season in your area, then by all means use fresh produce from the grocery store.
Buy fresh flowers- While I normally don’t delve into tablescapes on this blog, fresh cut flowers are about as Spring as anything gets. This is a lovely way to add ambiance.
Purchase your meat locally- If you have resources in your area to buy meat from local farmers, this is the best way to buy meat! It is so much more than supporting small businesses. The meat just tastes better, and is better quality than what most grocery stores carry.
Decide on which dishes you plan to serve- That is certainly what this post is for, to help you choose what to cook!
